Day 166 - "For your first race, JUST FINISH!"

Alcohol Units: nope
Running Units: no
Other exercise Units: 0
Stretching Units: yup

TNT sent out a list of top 10 marathon mistakes. At the top of the list in bold letters was validation of my mentality - "For your first race, JUST FINISH". It won't be pretty. It won't be quick. But I will finish somehow. Might be on my hands and knees at the 15 hour mark but I will survive! woops I meant finish.

They keep telling me it's all mental so I'm warming up the mental part.

Tonight I had another sports massage. Ahhh how painful they are but totally beneficial. We starte with the hammies which were super tight. Moved to the calves which were super tight. Did a little glutteus work because of last sunday's cramping - again super tight. Noticing a theme? Raul was very impressed I'd just started running. Little does he know how sorry I am out there. He does think all my medications are taking a toll on my muscles. I've got to agree.

i didn't know there was a link btwn meds and tightness...hmmm. glad that the massages are working!

i'm with dev: i have a big sign with your name on it and a big wave and smile.

you will finish. mine wasn't pretty. i walked a good majority of it and it took me well over 6 hours. you will finish too. and you will feel uh-maz-ing when you walk, jog, crawl, roll, fall, skip, jump, or whatever it is you do across the finish line and then get that big ass medal around your neck.
