Day 103 - Ow ow ow ow ow

Alcohol Units: none
Running Units: zilch
Other exercise Units: nada
Stretching Units: Yup

Woke up this morning in pain. Actually went to bed last night and my right calf was on lock down. I definitely did my stretches last night. Did a LOT of good stretching but somehow I am in serious pain today. Practice was most definitely out tonight because walking around the office didn't go so well.

I've spent the last hour stretching with my foam roller, my bands and anything I can find. I'm feeling better from all the stretching but concerned that such a short run caused so many problems.

My boss stopped by this afternoon and I was telling him how I was just exhausted after yesterday's run. He pointed out my diet is most likely not supporting all the running I've been doing. I need to get better about what I eat. It's really difficult to think I need to eat more. I know my body is telling me that but over the years I've gotten very good at not listening to my body.

Looks like another life lesson being learned through this process - listen to your body.

Try eating some bananas -- Lance is always telling me they're good for sore muscles. Worth a shot, right?

how about peanut butter? i can't remember if you are one of my friends who hates it or not, but i love eating a bagel with peanut butter before a run. i usually eat half before and half after. that really sustains me. i should eat better too.. but i ignore that portion. maybe try do chicken and brocolli and rice/beans if you can. that would be good. there are all kinds of yummy frozen microwave veggies that i like to eat. easy and good for you. i'm just not sure what you can and can't eat anymore!
