Day 275 - Emily's big day

Alcohol Units: nope
Running Units: no
Other exercise Units: long walk on boardwalk
Stretching Units: ha ha ha yes

My cousin Emily took to this training program like any pre-grad student would. She's taking classes for a nursing program and she spent a good amount of time training. I really wish I could pause my meeting time during the day to go on a long run. Unfortunately work does not allow that.

Anyways Emily had never done a running race. She had done a triathlon. She'd also never been to Disneyland. She'd also never been on a roller coaster. We gave Emily a BIG day.

She started the race with us with very little complaining (unlike some other family members) and I didn't see her until the end. Being the only one who trained for it for a few months she did the best of all of us (shocking how that works).

She did get a little nap in, a shower and some homework. We were to spend the rest of Sunday at Disneyland. When she heard the ticket prices she almost had a heart attack. She didn't even know what was inside! Had no idea what rides there were?! How do you get to be 28 years old and not know anything about Disneyland???

Anyways we let her in on some insider tips. The best rides to go on, fast passes, the different lands that separate the park, the fact you don't have to pay extra for each ride, the fact that a water will cost you $3 in the park.

Her goal for the day was to ride a roller coaster and we got her on 3. Dad rode with her on the first: big thunder mountain. I rode with her on the second: Space Mountain (wooHOO!!!!). And the third she did alone: Roller coaster at California Adventure.

Emily had a great day. The next day however she could not walk. At all.
